new depish DVD...does anyone care?

Might be of interest to some on here, but Depeche Commode is coming out with yet another live DVD on Sept, 25, capturing the might and majesty of their latest tour.

Shouldn't Anton Corbijn be getting his ass in gear on another little project instead? And is Depish going the New Order route and putting out a live DVD for every friggin' tour they go on? Does anyone actually buy this stuff?

I like Depeche Mode, and I wouldn't mind buying their new DVD. I think it's insulting to Depeche Mode fans on here (if there's anyone else besides me) to post such a thread.

never cared for DM. but on the flip-side, there are some insane NO fans who buy endless NO products that are not totally necessary buying material.Including myself.

I might buy it, if I have the money. Their summer tour was awesome. I saw them in AC and the show was great. It's not a bias - I was not impressed by the shows on the Exciter tour. Although Alan Wilder is no longer there and his touring replacement is not the same, Dave and Martin sang well. They also did a fair amount of pre-SOFAD songs: A Question of Time, Stripped, Never let me Down, Behind the Wheel, Shake the Disease, Photographic, Enjoy the Silence, World in My Eyes, and Personal Jesus. Policy of Truth and Blasphemous rumors were also played at other dates. The only thing corny were those space ships covering the keyboards. If Alan were there, those certainly wouldn't have been there.

I enjoyed the Touring The Angel tour,not mega-fussed about the new tunes,apart from Damaged People,which gets an airing on this DVD by the looks of it. But the set was great,I liked the "Mars Attacks" style keyboards,the big globe-like scoreboard and the back projections were ace. Good to hear Shake The Disease again.

I'll invest, definitely. I've been a fan since 1985-ish & finally got to see DM live in Dublin in June. Have to say it was a quality gig, even with the scaled-down set. Shake The Disease wasn't on the setlist that night, but Martin Gore did a blinding version of Leave In Silence with Peter Gordeno to start the encore.

The current tour has done over 100 dates and will likely be in the top 5 highest grossing tours of the year

I'll probably pick it up. I have all the others and had a great time when I saw them last year.

Was thinking the same thing myself! I think it may be a translation thing sometimes.

I wish MUTE would bring out the Violator Tour on DVD.Saw it at Birmingham NEC,festuring the Behind The Wheel/Route 66 medley.Visuals were excellent.Never came out on VHS,so probably more chances of picking up Tartan paint from B&Q.

I really don't rate anything they have done since 1990 with the exceptions of Walking In My Shoes, It's No Good, Only When I Loose Myself and Precious. Policy of Truth came on a radio station here in Syracuse that just changed formats a few days ago....that NEVER happens, so that got added to preset #1

Maybe a live DVD, like the old old days (1982-83), where you actually see Fletch PLAY KEYBOARD PARTS!

i'm an old hardcore DM fan and I'm sick and tired of all their releases and how they expect their fans to keep coming up with all the money for all their releases. No offence, I love the band for their music and will treasure them forever, they'll always be among my faves, but I'm tired, 23 years later, of the pressure to spend money I don't have on a new release that keeps coming out. I would buy if if my salary increases and thats it but its not a priority now. My days of putting money into collecting rare items are long over. I have travelled all over the world to see DM and they know who I am. But I'm too jaded anymore to buy every single thing that comes out now, I'll stick with the same videos I have on VHS and I'm sure there is no need to view yet another boring DM interview.

Reasons why they decided not to put any World Violation show on DVD is cause they have nothing with good enough video quality to put out officially - as per Brat on dm.com anyway. I have to admit the best show I ever saw was at Birmingham NEC in 1988, wish I could have a tape of that.

Seconded! I like Dave and the boys loads and I'll definitely be buying the DVD when it comes out. And yes, I agree that it's very insulting to post a thread like this, because you're criticising people's tastes and by extension, you're criticising the people themselves.
