My car is being fixed - more money down the drain.

Just found out my car brake discs are so damaged after a long drive yesterday that I easily could have had no brakes and died on the North Circular on the way to work.

Contemplated if that would have really been that much of a problem.

Money - evil.  :(

I am currently hoping someone steals/sets fire to my car. Perhaps if I park downtown and leave the keys in the ignition...

The power steering system on my 98 Sable is cocked big time. :banghead: As in, I need to put in 1/2 a container EVERY TIME I DRIVE, because it pisses it out when I put the car in gear. Will begin to add up over time, but I am not sinking another goddamn dime into her...

To add injury to injury, I still owe $1,100 on it :dead: However, my next payment is not until Jan. 26th

What I will look into today (or tomorrow), is swallowing my pride, bending over, and going to a dealership and seeing what they can do to 1) Get rid of my piece of shit, and 2) Get myself into a new model Hyundai Accent or Elantra...Nothing too special, something clean, reliable with a 5 speed, A/C and CD player...

Really do not want to get raped every month for a payment and my insurance will rise like cheap lager after a bender, but I'm out of options.

Cars are a pain in the ass. My 99 Oldsmobile Alero isn't quite as bad as yours, but I wish I could get rid of it yet I still owe like $2,000 on it, so I shall suffer. I've always wondered how much money it would cost me to do what your considering.

I give myself a company car every 3:th year, so I never have much trouble with them.

I think cars today, only lasts for maximum 10 years, if you're lucky. Otherwise 5-6 years.

They build crap cars now. If you want a used car, buy a Volvo 240 or 740. That's a car that can run for 30 years. :thumb:

My next car will hopefully be a Toyota or Honda. The Toyota Camry is supposed to be the most reliable car available. I don't ask for much, just get me from point A to point B without breaking down, and while allowing me to listen to my tunes. :thumb:

I think what they are saying is that if they buy a used car, they will pay cash and not get a loan to purchase the car used.
