If he is dead then it would be about damn time.
It sure would be nice to have a chance for improved relations with Cuba.
I'm guessing he's probably still around for now, though. News like that can't be kept under wraps for long.

Fidel's probably on his way out anyway, no matter how this turns out. And I'm guessing Cuba will either a.) smoothly transition to a more democratic state or b.) be overrun with revolution and bloody uprisings.
