Er, Ladytron here. But then, I don't know much about Goldfrapp.

But why are these two linked? I don't see any similarities, as such?

Goldfrapp's much more established over here and they/she have been around much longer, with more commercial success. Ladytron are still relatively new kids on the block, and haven't even broken the top 40 yet (came by a whisker with their last two singles).

Ladytron from what I've heard of them

I had to vote Goldfrapp, I hardly know ladytron.

That filtered shrieking on Lovely Head is enough to make me love them forever. Of course Miss G's previous beautiful singing for Orbital sways me too.

Against them I have to say the album containing Strict machine.....actually just sounds like 8 mixes of that song.

Ladytron, but i would work out of hours with Miss Goldfrapp especially after that get up she had on the Somerset House dvd. Whoar

Ladytron for me, but wouldn't go and see either if they played my local!

I think you meant, who the hell are Ladytron?

Although I think you could ask (i) who the hell is Goldfrapp, and (ii) who the hell are Goldfrapp?! Cos it's both Alison Goldfrapp and also the name of her band. Works on both levels. Clever, eh?

don't know fuck all about either.

they're names didn't lure me in. so i can't see the music doing the same.

why do people even bother to come on this thread if they know nothing about either of the bands just to post an opinion saying as much? post counts are really not that important!

anyway - seen goldrapp twic, both thimes they were excellent, but destroy everything you touch was one of the singles of the year for me last year - like them both but still waiting for ladytron to play bristol properly.

I voted for Ladytron purely on the strength of their last album.

Having seen both bands play live on many occasions and thoroughly enjoyed myself every time it would be impossible for me to choose between them otherwise.

Lady-who?

I'm sure I've probably heard their tunes without realising it, but Goldfrapp registered with me and I've got all three of the albums, ergo it's Goldfrapp (presently)...

I like both, but I loves me some Goldfrapp better.

I'd rather look at G, but listen to L....

I'm split between the two personally. I like Ladytron somewhat, but their sound can be rather slight and forgettable. I'm really digging Goldfrapp's latest album, but their first two don't hook me all that much, especially the slower non-dancy songs that sound like they're trying to channel Shirley Bassey through a Moog. Split, I tells ya.

Goldfrapp's first single off their latest album was basically Strict Machine again, done by T-Rex.The second single was much better.Lovely synths on that one.

Now, I've only heard of Ladytron through myspace; I will give Goldfrapp a listen as well. I haven't put my vote in, but the fact that ladytron is in the title grabbed my attention.
