As a lot of you following my continuing work saga know I use temps an awful lot.

I was training a new girl today. Just out of high school, no living expenses, only worked retail (no office jobs) until this point....

haha

at 10:30 this morning she told me that she wanted to go out on a cigarrette break...

It's 1 pm and she's not back.

hahahahahahhahah

first temp I've ever had walk out!!!

:thumb: :thumb:

I'm so proud

What did you say??

Still, it's not as bad as my mate Carl, he went for a drink with a girl, she said she was going to the toilet and never came back!! So he thought stuff it, i'll get pissed anyway. Then got done for drunk driving about two hours later!!

Where I was working for the summer at a telefundraising center, temps aren't hired, but everyone new goes through a probation period in which you could be hired or fired before the 6 weeks of it are up. In my training group of ten people, only three of us made it through the summer without walking out in the middle of a shift, leaving, or getting fired.

Well, I do agree with you about that. I was kind of appalled that people couldn't do such a simple job.

Well, in her defense, she said she was going out for a cigarette break but she didn't mention how many she planned on smoking

I mean, she could have such a compulsive addiction to nicotine that she needs to get through the whole pack in order to maintain her buzz :smoker:

My "pride" comes from the fact that I didn't give up so damn easily, made it past the six week probation period, and make enough bonus so that I made about $12/hr - not a lot, but more than the $7.75 base pay.

If you'd have temped for me you'd have gotten 11/hr to start 9-5 jobs and no sales calls. Basically just enter shit in a computer and do emails... haha
