It's a Release Candidate, it means it's no longer a beta, this is likely the version that will be the official one, so there is no harm in installing it.
Obviously, do this only if you have a legal Windows XP with Service Pack 2... it needs genuine windows to work.
I've been using this for a while now... I was on the way to switch to FireFox, this one convinced me to come back to IE. 
i downloaded the beta version of this this and shortly afterwards my pc crashed. had to do a system restore to before i installed it to get windows working again. ive got xp service pack 2 and everything. i might just have been unlucky, but i will be sticking to IE6 or firefox...:(

As pleased as he was about THIS astonishingly accurate win-emulator.
I'll do what I always do with MS upgrades, wait like 3-5 years until.... a. something I really need only works with the new version. b. most of my other stuff has been updated to run on the new one, and c. the worst of it's security attrocities have been fixed and half the menu functions no longer operate purely as self destruct switches.

Sticking with Firefox here tbh.
To be honest, I have both.. FireFox seems to be faster at the moment, but I prefer IE7's interface... it's nicer...
I know you can use skins on FireFox, but what can I say...
And FireFox keeps crashing on my work computer (2.0 beta 1) for some reason... fortunatly it has this "restore session" feature which is very nice.
As for crashing.. if IE7 beta was crashing, blame a 3rd party.. it took me a while to figure that it was Google Desktop that was the reason why IE7 was crashing on my computer... since then Google released an updated version that fixed the problem.
