Many people over here know it, I'm a Microsoft guy, some of you might not like them, but they do pay the bills since I'm doing work on Microsoft applications for 7 years now.
I have installed yesterday the pre-RC1 version of Windows Vista, since to me it sounded like it's no longer a beta and should be worthy of trusting.
Well, my comments so far are:
- So beautiful... I feel like I'm on a Mac! The graphical user interface is amazing (when using Aero and the translucid windows)
- WTF... they changed how so many things used to work that it's going to be long to get used to the new way of working. I'm not yet convinced this is a good thing though, when you are used to things working a specific way for 10 years, that much change might cause problem.
- Pretty much everything works fine, sure many softwares will need to be fixed to have better icons and stuff, but this will come.
So far it's worth it, the only thing I don't have is my TV tuner because I couldn't find a version of the software for Windows Vista on the ATI website.. usually they do, I remember having the same problem when I switched to Windows 2000.
