Many people over here know it, I'm a Microsoft guy, some of you might not like them, but they do pay the bills since I'm doing work on Microsoft applications for 7 years now.

I have installed yesterday the pre-RC1 version of Windows Vista, since to me it sounded like it's no longer a beta and should be worthy of trusting.

Well, my comments so far are:

So beautiful... I feel like I'm on a Mac! The graphical user interface is amazing (when using Aero and the translucid windows)
WTF... they changed how so many things used to work that it's going to be long to get used to the new way of working. I'm not yet convinced this is a good thing though, when you are used to things working a specific way for 10 years, that much change might cause problem.
Pretty much everything works fine, sure many softwares will need to be fixed to have better icons and stuff, but this will come.

So far it's worth it, the only thing I don't have is my TV tuner because I couldn't find a version of the software for Windows Vista on the ATI website.. usually they do, I remember having the same problem when I switched to Windows 2000.

Oh, if you asked why I did RSS feeds on NOOL, check to the right of the screen ;)

Almost as pretty as OSX, still boggin compared to KDE or Gnome ( may features of which it "borrows" I believe)....but...show me benchmarks..... how much better than XP is it? Or has all that shininess on the front end taken more of your cpu cycles away. Jusr ONE I would like to see MS improve their software with the hardware instead of slowing it down to exactly use up all your new cpu before you run any apps......XP was half the speed of 98 FFS.

There is no doubt in my mind this will take lots of ressources.

Since when does Microsoft care anyways, they have a deal with all computer manufacturers to sell it with their machines, so they will get people to buy new machines.

But to be honest.. this is pretty useless at work...

But since this is not the final version, I'll wait before giving any benchmark.

It's pretty but I really only use my computer for surfing the Net and my ITunes Stuff-so BVista really does not mean much to me. Should I even consider getting it??

I like the tabs on the explorer, seperate from the bottom. Sick of having too many tabs than the bottom can hold. Like the "shiny" black bar on the bottom...but that's what I guess this is about it...looking nice and a couple nicities here and there. Really.....I don't think the tech market can keep making fast advances until eternity.....at some point they have to reach a pinacle.....seems like they are forcing out Vista because they need to, not because they have software that really is an advancement.

Fortunately the clock can be binned off. It's an eyesore. Does it work with your virus and firewall protection? When I tried it there were issues with Norton. Haven't tried it with McAfee, Panda etc yet.
