I think it was Slade. As I remember it everyone at primary school was into either the Jackson Five, Slade, Queen or Gary Glitter. I'm rather glad in retrospect I never liked the last of those, though the Jacksons would probably have retrospectively been the coolest choice (sadly I seem to remember tastes divided somewhat on racial lines). Erm, probably a combination of Dexy's Midnight Runners, Madness, The Jam, The Police, Blondie, The Stranglers - most of these were down to my brother playing the above groups all the time!

I had to babysit so often to buy my own stuff.....my Mum said I looked ridiculous (in hindsight, I did), but imagine the look of horror on the parents faces when I turned up to look after their kids!

yes I would actually say New Order (starting listen to them about age 12/13 at boarding school) and depeche mode (local band) speak and spell - what an album...

abba, tell you the truth, i still like them alot, but they are not producing any new songs at the moment or since the early 80s
