Just in case you don't know, Dual disc is new and has 2 sides on the same disc. It features the main cd on one side and DVD side on the other side

I seem to be against this.

Fits CDs and DVDs in a handy package but doesn't play well on certain cd players and walkman. And thats why I am against it. Until the day they perfect it and play well, I will prefer the cd be kept seperately and DVDs too.

Any CD that doesn't play in all CD players because it doesn't conform to standards is NOT OK in my book and therefore gets the NO vote from me.

I'm against it because if many artists use this format, it would be hard for people like me to buy imported CD's. (CD's work in whatever country. DVD's do not, because of region coding and PAL/NTSC differences...) There's region codes, and PAL/NTSC formatted TV's and such, so I'm against this format.

If I buy a DVD imported from the UK, I could only play it on a computer because even though the region is the same, (Japan is 2, so is the UK) Japanese TV's are NTSC format, like the US. The UK apparently is PAL, so PAL DVD's would only work on PAL TV's, and NTSC ones will only work on NTSC TV's.

All of my TVs and dvd players are multiformat PAL and NTSC. in the menu go to system and select auto rather than PAL or NTSC.

There are hacks out there for most dvd players to convert them to multizone in a matter of minutes. a quick web search using terms like dvd and multizone should see you right on that account.

So the ability to play said discs are not really an issue here. It is whether they will work at all in a normal player.

Its a good idea, ive got one of *AC/DC "Back In Black"*. Not fussed on the cases though with the curved front edge.

I voted nay. Not all that much of a convenience, IMO, and not worth it if it doesn't work well.

i like the idea in principle, saves on packaging, plastic etc but as they don;t work in all players (car cd player, walkmen etc) gets a no from me

I have

Songs for silverman (Ben folds) Transgression (Fear Factory) Straight Outta Lynwood (Weird Al yankovic on september 26)

As Dual disc.

There are other ways to fit a CD and DVD in a package. We know those double disc set you get from like Fundamental and -ism by Pet shop boys. Package it like that. It saves on packaging. Fear Factory Archetype cd/dvd is separate but in th same packaging. That works well.
