There's plenty of good poetic original hip hop that isn't about bitches or guns or gold rimz or grillz.
Unfortunately you're hard pressed to hear any of it outside of college radio.
Most of the rap you hear these days on corporate radio and on major labels is despicably exploitative garbage... which I imagine is what Liam is referring to... so I agree with him on that.
Still you should seek out the good stuff sometime.

Indeed. New Order make some crap songs too! As does Morrissey, Depeche Mode, U2, The Fall, Stone Roses, Pearl Jam, you name 'em they've dropped musical bollocks at times!
Even Pearl Jam have never done anything quite so musically offensive as the rap music that has been polluting our airwaves for years now.

I seriously doubt Liam's ever heard this as he doesn't appear particularly au fait on the genre. And why should he be, this was released years before Young Liam was even conceived so wouldn't have come within his radar.
Suffice to say, I think it's a timeless classic.

After basically spending the last 7 years of my life frequenting various indie clubs, I have heard that piece of shit hundreds of times. I have always left the dancefloor in disgust. No matter how shitfaced I was.

I too hate the tough nigga image that comes with it, oh, and the great lyrics, "shake that ass baby", etc.......gee, it takes a long time to think up those meaningful lyrics.
Am going to see U2 in November and have to sit though bloody Kanye West......how could they do that to us??

He's one of the more forward thinking rappers of recent times. And his live shows are very theatrical, not just a DJ and some shouting into a mic.

I wasnt aware U2 fans liked music.
I'll always resent U2 for having the Killers support them in Cardiff while I got stuck with Athlete. Although saying that, Idlewild played as well, and they werent bad considering how awful the sound was.
