Our kid wants to come up to Aberdeen and watch Arab Strap in December.
Not surprisingly, I've never eard of 'em.
What are they like?

they ain't exactly the cheeriest band ever... excellent lyrics though & it;s their farewell tour so take him.

daves right, they ain't exactly cheery.
I've seen them 3 times in Aberdeen, and it usually consists of drunken banter and mucho swearing between band and crowd. Perversely they must enjoy it if they are coming back.
Haven't seen them live for a few years now... But they were always highly entertaining - gloomy but with a wicked sense of humour and often a great deal of beauty...
