'Lily the Pink' - haven't a clue who sang it and my Mum bought it for me, so it doesn't really count 
Album was probably some compilation Top of the Pops thingy.
First Gig, was a Two-Tone concert at the Bingley Hall, Birmingham.
Single: Patrick Hernandez - Born To Be Alive (1979) Album: Bee Gees - Greatest Hits (1980) Live Show: The Police in Melbourne (March. 84)
Not proud of the first two.

Gig: Terrorvision (Halifax: 1995 or 96 can't remeber exactly)
Single: Adam & The Ants - Stand & Deliver (limited edition poster sleeve - 75p from Woolworths when it was #1 in the charts)
Album: Adam & The Ants - Kings Of The Wild Frontier (with the Ant catalogue insert - my dad bought it for me when it was his turn to get an album for his work record swap club thing!)
Gig: Adam & The Ants - Prince Charming Revue @ The Brighton Centre, 28/12/1981 (went with my Dad's boss's daughter - she was about 14 or 15, I was 11...!!!)

It was pretty crap actually.
Hard to remember...
Single : La pêche aux moules (mid-seventies)... stupid track... I do not know if it counts really as my father bought it to me. I cannot remember which is the one I could afford first with my own money...
Album : Radio activity on tape by the late seventies. Then again, my parents paid...
Concert : Depeche Mode - Music for the Masses tour.
Single? i think it was the Police-Dont Stand so Close to me Album- Kiss Alive! Gig-the Ramones at the ritz NYC '89, might have seen german metal band Kreator just before that though im not sure

Single = Blue Monday '95 (1995; technically I didn't buy it solely - it was attached to the Rest Of).
Album = Beatles (Help!) on tape. The real first vinyl record I bought was a Carl Perkins one, I think.

I was a bit of a late starter with singles,seeing as I was one of those who Peter Kay joked about,who taped the Top 40 chart,and kept recording the DJ's voice on the end of the song! AAARGH!
Then I started buying pre-recorded cassettes.

1st gig deffo Duran Duran Dec 11th 1983 @ Leed's Queens' Hall. It was a birthday pressie. Only found out after it was a toss up betweeen that and The Clash but as my auntie was taking me and she was more of a Duranie, that's where I went. Just as well I enjoyed it
I have no idea what my first single was,My Dad used to do the tapes from the charts for us(as mentioned before) So I never really owned many... might have been 'Christmas in smufingland' or one of those nasty flexi singles they gave away free on magazines?)

First Album- "Dance Music USA Vol. 5" Got it with my first CD player along with other dance music CDs for Christmas at 10 years old. Again, I didn't know any better.

Wembley Arena? Was that their final gig,the U-VOX "tour"? Bit gutted now I didn't see it.I was pissed of with them,that they didn't do a full tour.

I saw that 'tour' as well and I have to say that, that was pretty awful too. Not sure if it's the venue as I have very few recollections of ever seeing a decent concert there... Electronic, New Order, Ultravox and Depeche Mode have all disappointed me there...!
Lets hope New Order can break my albatross!
PS I was a huge Ultravox fan but now all I can listen to nowadays is the 'Rage In Eden' era. Everything else seems very dated to me...

Rage in Eden seems to be the only one by them which remains a good album. It is the only one I rebought in cd...
Concerning John Foxx's era : once every three years... Not bad, but seem more 70s than end of the 70s. Compared to them, the Stranglers sound much more modern.

Huge fan of the Metamatic and Burning Car era as well as his work with Ultravox. The Garden was good but after that my interest stopped.
I have read some good reviews of his later work though...
