Downloaded the new Limewire update, and now the thing starts up at start up; when I close it it opens up automatically...went through preferences and found four boxes to uncheck, yet theing STILL does it. Anyone else having this issue? And if you haven't downloaded the newest update, beware. I hate software that uselessly uses your RAM.

all that dodgy fileshare stuff, i dont go near any of em
signed all up with L-MEIRE.. Thinking that it was the simple one-way file transfer setup as s-ulseek.
Have not used it. Do no intend to touch it. Do not like that the second party etc.s have all but direct access to your computer. What is that all about. See nowhere that I can unsign-up. and De-register. hnm.
I don't use Limewire, but a friend of mine who uses it says that it closes by itself frequently, even if she hasn't hit "exit" or whatever.
I don't know, I've been using Limewire for three years now and no problems except the constant opening problem recently. It detects most viruses and stops downloading if it dects one; no shareware; no trojan horses, so alot better than others. And it only shares the folders you allow to be shared. You can be a miser (like me) and not share anything. Alot of free stuff I've downloaded, and not a single problems yet with the stuff I've downloaded.

probably lack of memory, that's usually the best cause of a program exiting quietly while saying nothing. Mind you, I've not seen it in Windows very often , more of a linux trick so it is, azureus bails like that a couple of times a month with the underlying java goes into full on memory leak mode.
Never had a problem with it either. The only problem i have with Limewire is admitting to myself that im a thieving little cunt...

Well, windows just automatically ran a "malicious software scan", deleted something, and now the Limewire doesn't open on it's own anymore.....and still works. Gotta love Windows XP
I use soulseek for music, and Shareaza for other stuff. Both contain no spyware whatsoever and work fine.
