I have a friend you might like to meet.

The young mans name is Christopher Owens. and he is partial to a bit of Sisters of Mercy, some Bauhaus and a dose of Killing Joke. He can usually be found in the Shed area of this Website. he hangs out there with other like-minded souls. I hear they play some rather nice games inside this Shed.

www.myspace.com/jade25289269. I hate it. If it wasn't for Johnny Marr I would definitely leave MySpace, but as it stands I'm just considering deleting my profile. Social networking. Oh yeah, MySpace: Just like meeting your mate in the caff. What's wrong with going out and meeting random characters, instead of choosing people who never write back and use you to up their viewing figures/fanclub. You don't come across a one-eyed man carrying a dvd player and talking about Dad's Army on there. Rupert Murdoch, yuck.

What about LiveJournal? Everybody doesn't seem to care a damn about that website... Aren't they the same?

Anyway I'm hesitated to launch a myspace page of my own. I do need something where I can upload some pics instead sending it everytime to my friends... Though I have no strength to do anything these days, so bummy lately.

I must be extra lame. I have a myspace AND a livejournal.

I have added to favourites and sent requests to all those who have replied on this thread with a link to their spaces so far, just because they're on NOOL. I use http://myspace.com/aneworderfan (in the few spare time I have) mainly to interact with bands (and their fans) who have pages on MySpace, starting with Gabrielles Wish of course. MySpace is an amazingly useful place for musicians, it cuts the distance between them and their audience, it helps to create communities around emerging bands, and to discover bands linked by them or by people who follow them. I like to see there's still good bands down there in the underground. I've been impressed by Azure Glow, for example. They don't do exactly the music I usually hear, but they're very powerful, good at doing emotional songs... I like to link to the profiles of those bands to help them getting known. BUT (while I usually accept "friendship" requests unless the bands suck) I link on my page only to the bands I HONESTLY like, so wether you can disagree with my taste, you'll know I link to them because I really like them and I think you should hear them. The MySpace blog sucks but has the best support for streaming media files, so I use it to stream audio and video, taking codes from sites that claim to be legal, I'm a bit suspicious about them, but I keep an eye closed for the sake of promoting good audio and video of bands I'd like people to hear. If you want a real blog, LiveJournal sucks, WordPress is probably the most full featured but it's quite slow, overall the best is BloggerBeta, if you hack the template a bit (I link to blogs which can help you with that), it can become almost an online content manager like WordPress. As for posting images, Photobucket.com is probably the best.

I find myspace an excellent way of communicating with like minded people and torture them with my music!!!

I've just tried to add a few people but not all accept requests from bands!

Hope to chat with some new friends soon

How can he use the original True Faith on myspace - i thought it's a copyrighted material and therefore is not allowed on myspace?...

The fictional Borat is my only "friend". Internet life reflects real life.

You must be kidding. The very most of the contents on streaming media sites like YouTube and MySpace is copyrighted. Record companies are starting to complain even about this, but they just show all their idiocy. Sharing a good quality file for download is one thing, streaming it from a web page is another. I stream "copyrighted" material from MySpace too, the sites where I find the codes claim it to be legal, I don't know... I just know it's crazy to forbid even streaming media files. Do they really think we're just going to use Flickr to show our holidays pictures, YouTube to show our holidays video clips and MySpace to stream our yawns? What's wrong with making people hear stuff they might like and buy? BTW does anyone have problems logging in today?

Fair points. In this case I'll upload one song on my front page - something cool.
