My 8 year old son has never been to Florida,so ive booked & paid for us to go in May next year. Ive told him,and as you can imagine he is really excited. He loves all those films,ET,Jurassic Park,Men In Black,Spiderman etc. His favourite however,by a long way is the Back to the Future trilogy. He has gone on & on about going on the BTTF ride, which i`ve been on and told him is better than the films.

Anyway,Ive just been on Universal site to buy Hopper passes, and theyre closing the fucking ride next week for good. Gotta break it to him now...

WHAT????

Thats a disgrace.

By far the best ride at universal studios. Well, it was 15 years ago when I was there. Although the King Kong Ride and the Earthquake one were pretty cool as well.

King Kong was axed a couple of years ago-prematurely now Jackson has re-made it!

Wow, last time I went to Universal Studios Battlestar Galatica was a new ride, and Jaws was only a few years old. Tickets are always expensive, and they haven't done any "military for free" tickets yet.

Bummer as I wanted to check out the BTTF ride....were did you get this info? Went to their site and it didn't say anything.

what a downer, that ride was a bloody cracker. it was the first ride we went on the 1st time we went and we came out with jaws on the floor faces.

dont worry too much though m8 theres still a ride a plenty for him to have him chuck up on.

universal has still got "spiderman" awsome

and the hulk, the mummy, jaws, ect ect, and if you can,get yer arse to seaworld and bush gardens some terrific rides there as well. oh and theres disneys mgm as well , tower of terror and rock n roll rollercoaster are 2 excellent rides.

yer little lads about to have his brains blown and so are you by the way. have a good un.

You could of course come to LA, as it doesn't seem to be disappearing on this coast....but a more expensive flight.

don't worry. it sucks. it's 5 minutes of nausea and headache. hit the mummy returns instead.

and whatever you do, avoid disney/MGM studios. it's crap compared to universal. i go to universal islands of adventure as often as i can (it's about a 10 minute drive from my house), but for a little tyke it may be too much (it's where spiderman is), so i'd stick with the regular universal and magic kingdom. oh, and medieval times rules. it's on hwy. 192 in kissimmee, just south of orlando, and a great night out.

That's a shame.I saw it on a programme about theme rides, and it was created by Doug Trumbull who did the effects for BLADE RUNNER,CLOSE ENCOUNTERS and 2001.

Just pull a Clark Grizwald(sic) :violent2:

Make sure John Candy is the inept security guard beforehand :p

Oh, no. I went to Universal Studios in Osaka a few years ago, and I love the ride. I had to laugh at the memory of Mom crying because she thought that the ride was scary. The ride is a simulated roller coaster, with images on the screen. Why did she have to cry?

So this thread isn't about having sex with a Parkinson's addled Michael J. Fox?

Ooof, I'm off to hell now.
