I say McCain, he seems to most people to be middle of the road, and I think most people aren't looking for a strong conservative like Bush, but I don't think they are going to be jumping to the other extreme either.

I could handle a woman, but not Hilary. Collin Powell has evaded most scandals very well, but not real sure of his political stance, which is what I'm guessing is the majority of the population. My immediate gut feeling would like to see him in office....but it depends on what he says.

Surely that rule can be changed though. After all, it requires a person to be 35 years of age or older...but our current president has the functional intelligence of a 2-year-old on a tantrum, so there should be some legal wiggle room.

Is it to have to be born in the US or to be a US citizen at the time of birth? Some american diplomats' children are born overseas - does it mean they're eliminated from such a high right?

I dunno about children of diplomats, embassies are normally considered part of the country they represent, however very few embassies will have birthing stations.

I was born an American citizen in Germany. That is another story.

mccain. he will get the votes of the moderate democrats, as well as the republicans. he may lose the religious right vote for the republicans (which could confuse ralph reed a little), but he's so well respected that i think a lot of democrats and independents will come out for him on election day. i wouldn't be surprised if condi rice is picked by the republicans for VP.

I don't know about Condie, as I think anyone inthe current administration will have a mark upon them, deserved or not.
