Interesting that most of the top 20,with maybe the exception of Tom & Jerry are relatively new (in the past 10 years). Wait Till Your Father Gets Home was excellent though!

i watched an few old episodes of Transformers on video and the series was shite, but the movie just blows any other cartoon away, but thats just my opinion

Are not the old Warner Brothers cartoons including those with Bugs Bunny and others sort of the origin of modern cartoons, and deserve a little more respect here?
list seems like a mix of "apples and oranges" to me, just another silly list, thou of course i;ve loved the Simpsons for 16 years or whatever.
what do they mean by Spiderman? those old 1969-71ish cartoons? they kinda sucked but had the theme song. i remember some of them were really trippy, they used to use the same stock scenes over and over to save money... maybe good if you were high but i certainly wasn't high when i was 6.

Caught a few random bits of it. Disappointed that Beavis and Butthead didn't rate higher - for some reason that show struck a chord with me. Maybe as the most realistic depiction of 'da youth' ever made? Or maybe just 'cos it reminded me of the kids I went to school with? (typical memory - chemistry teacher uses word 'homogeneous', class wide outbreak of snickering because 'he said homo')
And apparently Futurama was dropped because poxy Fox cancelled it. Channel Four or the Beeb should have offered to produce it instead (like they did with TV nation?). Wonder if that would have been legally or financially possible.
Oh, and all Hannah and Barbara cartoons were crap.

so the TOP FIVE cartoons might be. Rocky and Bullwinkle, Tin Tin, Hercules and Asterix EXCELLENT. the SUCKS, OK, and SHITE all can get 10 out of 10s positive. Like the ratings system for Spiderman and Thundercats. plus the Transformers type.

I have an Ampanman video. Very creative idea of the Japanese, using different types of bread as superheroes...

Transformers all in all is excellent. Think a real classic there.
Have just read that Ed. Benedict of the Hanna Barbera team has passed on at 94. was weeks ago but just made it into print. cartoonbrew.com has the obit. vivid characters low budget so quality in humour not bells and whistles got the emphasis through the 1950.s
