Dude but like I don't see any reasons that says he would do that better than John Edwards except he's like the minority dish of the day. I do not believe Obama's message is any better than any "good" Democrat.

It's a southern country; Run a southern man--with a sick wife--who America lovessss John Edwards is beyond reproach seriously. If he doesn't win because some limosene liberal wants to prove a point with Hillary or Obama I'm fucking off to Italy.

Take your token Democrat and team him/her up with some moderately sensible Republican (McCain, not sure of any others), just so they're good friends and can make decisions together. Run them together for Pres and Vice-Pres, and watch the pundits and parties shit themselves over how much change it could actually make. Instead of blaming the opposing party for every speck of bullshit that happens, keep both parties with an invested interest in the nation's success. Would be great for the country for many reasons, and certainly a more attractive ticket for me than some born-to-lose Democrat.

Kerry tried that with McCain in '04. McCain wasn't interested-- he preferred bending over for W so he could run as a Republican in '08. McCain: Republican first, American second.
