After the last 6 years, any one of these "guys" would be a relief. But for now, I can narrow it down to my top 4, in no particular order:
*Russ Feingold: The "real" liberal (see Hillary below), and truly bipartisan. ![]()
*Wesley Clark: A former General, and a southerner, who can carry the moderates. ![]()
*John Edwards: A southerner who can carry the moderates, although probably not the south. Wants to eradicate poverty. ![]()
*Al Gore: A southern moderate, probably as right of center as Hillary, but he "gets" it-- environment and economy go hand in hand. ![]()
Sorry Hillary, a right of center candidate positioning herself as "the liberal" doesn't do anything for me.
I honestly think it's too early to call, and I also think whatever I say, it'll go to Hilary
(which would be a disaster, because she can't carry the heartland and I know the South won't vote for her just because)
Steering clear of the Hilary Vortex that threatens to suck up all that is good in the universe, I still like Obama's chances. If in 2008 we as a nation can't comprehend a black man (however much percent he isn't, in the eyes of people who vote he's a black man, and in the eyes of people who are more vocal about what they really believe he's a "nigger") as a major candidate for president, then we don't deserve him. But I think if he maintains a high national profile and shows that he's more than apt to lead us out of whatever bad shit we're in at that time, I'd actively campaign for the guy. ![]()
I'd like to see Edwards run again, if only because he's "the local boy done good" (born in nearby Seneca, which is the Beverly Hills to Walhalla's Tarzana), but I'm not sure if he'll still be a well-known guy by then. He's out of office, and John Kerry is steamrolling through whatever goodwill was left over from the '04 campaign by being the prick that everyone suspected he was.
Of the ones on your list otherwise, the only one that stands out to me is Evan Bayh. I'm not sure I know all that much about him, and his name is kinda funny-looking. But I'm sure he's a lovely man and would make a perfectly good candidate :p
I watched an old SNL last night; a "future President" Gore was leading the nation in his weekly economics lesson, including homework.

Then Bill Clinton walked in, drank a beer, burped, and Gore told him "You said you'd just be here for two weeks, and it's been two years now"!

i think kerry should run again; i think he'd have a good showing, at least in the primaries. wesley clark might have a shot, as he's a former military man. but i say OPRAH in 2008! ![]()

After Kerry's little idiotic "joke" thing, I hope he never makes his way to the ballot. Wesley Clark is a retard. Heard him on many occasions during the last election, and I couldn't believe the idiotic things he would say. Where do Dems find these military people???
Personally, I think Edwards has a good shot. Young, people already know his name...but maybe a bit too young.
John Edwards. But honestly I don't want to see any Democrat President in 2008. Wait another 4 years.

Let's discuss something verifiable. Here's a list of his policy positions. Now let's talk about one of those policy positions that you think makes him a retard (I haven't even read most of them, and you get to choose, so who knows, I may agree with you. Or not.).
Glas Vegas, avert your eyes. ![]()

What will change your mind in another 4 years?
I'd go with Obama and Edwards.
Kerry screwed himself up by offending some people (like me) and voting Hillary is like nepotism...

Glas Vegas, avert your eyes.
It wasn't necessarily his positions on a website that I'm refering to, but more his television commentaries and talk shows he was on.
Wish I could remember specific items, but it was awhile ago.
I was a bit interested in his ideas, since he was a retired general. But he explained many things they were factually wrong. At least that's what I remember.
