Do you need cleanup facilities as well? I'm thinking cooledit pro ( or adobe whatevertheychangeditsfeckinnameto) But you already have audacity or something (and if you don't, get it) you wont need that.

Course if you wanna go the whole hog, there's always wavelab, the ubereditor.

For a simple convertor, I'll mail you a decent one.

EDIT: I note you are afflicted with a snotmail address, I will therefore mail you a link.

doesn't have any batching facilities but as far as I recall, great for the editing, bt a complete pain in the ringpiece if you need to convert n00 files.

has a decent noise reduction in it now does it not?

(scuttles off to fidle with audacity)

EDIT: yes it does, seems useful too, so does the click remover ( must be good, cos it does exactly what the Waves one does if you apply it to a signal with sod all clicks, it MAKES em)

Audacity is the programme which came with the record player, but it won't let you export MP3's.

RazorLAME is pretty good and completely free.

Supports all the latest LAME encoders, it's a front-end for them.

Can be a bit tricky to set up but once it is it works really well :thumb:

Lemme know if you're still stuck Shug but you look sorted now!

Cheers amigo.

I will try Mr C's programme when I get home, I have just sent it to my IT manager to have a play with (I can't do anything like that while I am at work)

Fingers crossed :thumb:
