I purchased a new greyhound yesterday, he is at present nameless. Pet name - Barney (waiting for approval from Muffy on that)

Racing name - I don't know, thought possibly Gnu Odor if Gnu doesn't mind, or can anyone come up with anything better?

I'm allowed 16 letter including spaces - no swearing.

That's cos it's one of the user names I went under for that other NewOrderWeb forum (now under siege from some idiotic truckstop garbage drop-out with a serious character defect as we all know!). ;)

Most of the other names (bar RTS) actually come from song titles that me and my various bands used in the past, bands like Mo Larry & Curly, Lunatic Fringe, and !Basher!

suppose CandyTheDog is out of the question, then?

CandyTheDog - excellent but I think that's more of a name for a lady dog, it will be reserved for the next lady we get.

Barney (pet name approved by Muffy) is a 34kg Light Brindle beast.

No Candy poppet I'm aware of your manliness! I remember a thread along those lines some time ago. Candy is just a female name but don't feel bad John Waynes real name was Marion something! :D

Marion Morrison. Conversely, Alice Cooper's real name was (and presumably still is) Vincent Furnier. Eric Bristow's real name is Eric Bristow though.

There used to be this bloke called Bill Garrett played for the City back in the 1920s, who had two sons, who were called Tracy and Julie. God's honest truth. Pissed meself when I was doing the club history

I used to work on a greyhound track when I was still at school to earn extra pocket money - it was certainly better than doing a paper round!

This was at Warwick, which is like the Dr Martens Western League of dog racing, and we had to pull the traps off the tracks before the dogs came hurtling round the bend for the 2nd time at the finish. There was many a time when the traps got stuck in the mud and we had to try and stop all these greyhounds rushing in to them.

Went to Hall Green the other week which is quite impressive and you can even get a sit down meal and bet at your table - civilised!

The new superstar will in 2 months be running at Hall Green, names applied for today are:

1 Funky Monkey 2 Mister Disco 3 New Dog Fades 4 Boppawombat

Warwick is indeed a flat cap owners track!

I currently have retired "Ted" ruling my house with his lady friend Cheeky the JRT. Barney will join us when his racing career is over.

Apologies for the disorder of this post but for some reason can't reply with posts. Thanks to all who offered suggestions, the empire will be expanded so more names will be used in the near future! :)

Got to this a bit late, so for future Pooches, the best I could muster...

Leave Me A Bone Slow-life Mutt Culture

Some tracks/titles don't even need changing...

Run Wild Round & Round
Movement

You could go for the, make-a-fool-out-of-the-commentator approach, by calling him something like 'Some auld Mutt'...in the hope you'll hear...'& there's some auld Mutt on the outside' or 'Jeffrey Archer'..on the inside..etc etc.

Probably best stick to what you first got, on reflection. Well I tried.
