at least the Barmy Army was in good voice when i tuned in this morning. Ponting is in a batting class of his own.
Russell Crowe seems to think that England is about to get harsh lesson in Test cricket,and that we'll gat thrashed in every test.All this from a knob-head that can't seem to remember which country he comes from.
And yes, Ponting is a class act,as is Shane Warne.
Harmison has got to get going if we are to stand any chance. he looked shite this morning. his first ball in the first over was the widest ball i've ever seen.

Sadly I fear that the English media have done them in already - bigged it up 14 months ago when we scroted it by a very narrow margin, and they are like rabbits in headlights now. I think I'd want 200,000-1 to put any money on that shower! Not even Botham and a team full of drunken Aussies with no bats and hands tied behind their backs would save this one!

The only interesting thing is the Aussies didnt enforce the follow on. England teams have been known on occasion to bat out a day and a half for a draw, although it is admittedly, highly unlikely.

They're just looking to completely grind England into the dirt and set the tone for the rest of the series - the game was as good as won by the end of day 2. :\ohwell:

Heap the humiliation on and give the Aussie crowd the full five days of fun and give Cricket Australia the full five days ticket sales.
Don't agree with the 800 though.

Yep.Could'nt agree more.The fact that England went on the piss for 2 weeks after winning the Ashes has only helped fuel the Aussie fire.

As regards to any 'psychological advantage', I think England gained more from the 'extended' play by batting well and gaining some much needed confidence.
Well its a strange decision.. I know you agree Ron. My source is pretty good too, and no it wouldnt contravene any laws as long as its 'unofficial'.
Mind you KP losing his wicket in the first over ruins any hopes of a draw.
I'm doing a rain dance.

How the fuck would that contravene the rules of the game? It's the captain's choice whether to enforce the follow-on or not. Sure the ACB could advise him that it is in Cricket Australia's best interests to take the game into a fifth day, shall we say, but that wouldn't contravene the rules of the game.
Well done Aussie, guess we'll have to settle for a 4-1 win this time around! ;)
