there's a new virus going around msn and it's got me. loads of my mates have it too.

apparently you get sent something from someone in your list, and it says sumthin like

"is this you in this pic? (insert link here...)"

anyway you click it and then you're fucked. it sends the same message to everyone who is online in your contacts list. fckin joke mate!!

although i have made progress, thanks to various legendary forums i have got a removal tool from symantec which is trying to sort me out right now

could you email me the track please :(

Yeah download GAIM :D (or ANYTHING else, but at least GAIM connects to MSN...so do a couple of others, but they miss many features you may use)

PIF files were control files in the Windows 3.1 days... man, you were about 6 years old then...

MOST likely, pif's have no place on a "modern" windows system. They also have abilities that nakes them ideal virus vehicles.

If you get the following msg when signing in to msn, ""Sorry we were unable to login to MSN Messenger at this time. Please try again later. 80072f0d" , then try these commands:

Click Start > Run > type: regsvr32 softpub.dll

Do the same for these:

initpki.dll mssip32.dll wintrust.dll rsaenh.dll cryptdlg.dll

Now try MSN Messenger and see if that works.
