Anyone uses Google Accelerator?

I use Yahoo BB(Yahoo! Broadband; Japanese broadband Internet provided by Yahoo! and the company Softbank), so my Internet is fast enough to be called "broadband" and websites show up just fine. Also, streaming film clips show up fine as well. So, I don't really see the point in such items released by Google, when broadband access is ubiquitous.

Or does anybody still use dial-up?????????

yes they do. not me though. beats me it costs almost the same as broadband. then again there are newer suburbs in canberra and country australia where broadband isn't availiable. i guess their option now is to go wireless.

I use dial-up when I go to my parents'. Anyway, I have never used an accelerator software for four years. The last one I've used was the one called Download Accelerator.

Well, before that comment, I was about to say that I think both work the same way. They find mirror sites to download the same thing. I noticed a difference when I was using Download Accelerator, but I was using dial-up at the time.

The only real difference download accelerator makes is that it downloads, either from mirrors, or from multiple connections to a single server. Actually, if you overdo it, and set too many connections your downloads will be slower due to the overhead involved in managing so many connections. It also, of course offers the ability to resume downloads, and doesn't fall over at 99% like IE loves to do.

IT DOES help, especially on dialup...but they CLAIMS they make for it are bollox, if you have a 56k connection, yer only gonna get 56kbps no matter WHAT.
