Timeless Classic. One of the last truly great no.1's.

And this is a brilliant read! (Think I posted this up here at the time, couple of years back?).

EDIT. Blimey, that article is 4.5 years old! Am sure I defo posted it here at the time though.

a good song, but not as good as too much too young.

a very good song from a very good band, but i wouldn't rank it at the very top of their stuff, more like second tier.

Superb.

It took me a while to get in to The Specials, I'd always loved Much Too Young and Rudi, but failed to grasp the others till a year or two ago.... these days the first album is often on my CD walkman (yes, soooo 20th Century I know!)

Top top tune. Lyrics pretty much epitomised what was happening in Corby around 79-80 with regards to the Steelworks closing and the loss of thousands of jobs. Mind you, it's still pretty much a Ghostown now, although the powers that be have been promised indoor shopping and a train station in the very near future. Whoopee!

Saw the Prodigy at the Big Day Outs with New Order five years ago.

They came on to Nite Klub every time we saw them. :thumb:

Good shout JT. Just checked it's BBC4, Specials at the Colchester Institute. I'm sure Shug gave me a copy of this on dvd ages ago. :confused2:

Rock goes to college, that the one. Just checked for other gigs in the series as its likely the Beeb will run them over the next few weeks/months.

An interesting list, including Hillage if anyone was on the off chance interested. Hope the Stranglers one is shown

The Stranglers one was classic - hometown gig but Hugh Cornwell got in a strop with the students, who had been given free tickets ahead of local residents. They lasted a couple of songs before storming off. "Guildford University never represented Guildford, we hate playing to eliteist audiences so FUCK OFF"...
