What the hell is happening in Fiji?

Anyone have a greater understanding of what is happening over there, than me just googling articles?

They've been threatening a coup for weeks, maybe months. That's all I know.

well the coup is official now. it has happened.

buggered if i know why. this time it was Fijian not Indian/Fijian government as previously.

we lost an army blackhawk of the coast there from HMAS Kanimbla last week. 2 soldiers lost their lives.

I had a tour of that ship only three months back.

The ship is there just in case aussie ex-pats need to be evacuated.

They've been explaining it intermittently for weeks, but I still don't know why.

the army leader has some demands. i don't think i've actually heard what they are, but he's in charge now.
