How long would it take to get a passport for a kid at this time of year? Any idea?

He works for the passport office, I think... Maybe he can pull some strings...Bet he says 8 months instead though :(

If you go to the passport office you can probably get one in a day.

If you make an appointment and come in, they can do you a renewal in 4 hours. But if it's a first time, or a replacement for a lost/stolen/fucked one. it's gonna be 7 days ( and the rest with the xmas closures) I'd forget about postal applications until after xmas, and then you're looking at 1-3 weeks depending on what office it ends up in.

I'm applying to replace a lost passport. Do you reckon it'll get back to me safely by mid-February? hopefully so

Also, does anyone know if i need to report a lost passport to the police?

Well I can't speak for monaco...but here....

report it to the cops if you lost it in a public place or think it may have been nicked.

And yeah, if you get it off sort of nowish, it'll be back in buckets of time. (worth checking after you've sent it off for about a week or so, just to make sure it's not fallen down behind the radiator...we get mails from people who applied 2 years ago..>"ermmm, wondering how it's getting on" )

haha yeah im UK, just thought Monaco was a fitting flag to have

only lost the passport in the house/flat somewhere, needed renewing anyway. i'll get it all sent off asap cheers mate!

And if anything goes wrong, don't blame me. It may be the locked down secure bit of the helpline I work in, but it's still just the helpline, my main job is to keep a straight face when someone tells me they;ve booked a 12,000 quid holiday that departs in 2 hours and they've realised their passport was in the luggage that was sent on to their first port of call.
