This particular Barney, probably knows all about septic. He is the top man at producing shitty turkey products; one of which is fondly known as a Turkey Drummer! (In other words processed bits from a turkey, shaped into a drumstick and coated with breadcrumbs and no doubt, numerous other bits of crap)............hhhhmmmmmm. Yum.

Precisely what I was thinking of putting! Though I would have added the late great Pete deFreitas to the list as well.

Monty's right (as ever). Clem Burke is the best pop drummer around. The Monday's drummer (Wheelan?) always impressed me. But then I am easily impressed.

Can't believe anyone's put Larry Mullen, who's average, or Ringo Bloody Starr, who is crap.

There's a great story (which I've probably remembered wrong) where Ringo and Lennon are falling out in the studio over the way the drums sound. "I'm doing my best, but I know I'm not the best drummer in the world" said Ringo. "You're not even the best drummer in the Beatles", replied John.

Or was it George Harrison?

What was the name of that one armed drummer from, er Marillion was it? No, Def Leppard.

He's gotta be worth a mention.

George Martin has his say here (at 2:25 or so):
