She Wants Revange influenced by JD

this great project conformed by 2 dj's from Los Angeles, have based their music with a coalition of new wave, industrial and post punk elements, making a good sound. they have said many times that their main incluence has been JD and they classify them like a cult band.

when i heard them for the first time, right away I perceived their legacy with Joy Division.... however also they sound a little to b-movie and bauhaus.

recommend you to listen to their album, it is pretty good, especially tunes like:These Things, Out Of Control,I Don't Want To Fall In Love, tear you apart and Red Flags And Long Nights.

I interviewed the lead singer Justin Warfield for my college's paper last year and he mentioned that JD, the Smiths, DM, and the Cure as influences. But, I listened to their album and saw them open for Depeche Mode in Atlantic City and I just find their sound very derivative. The lead singer tries to sound like a carbon copy of Ian and their guitar and bass parts almost steal from the Cure's Seventeen seconds. The keyboard parts also sound borrowed from DM's Construction time again.

She Wants to Make 13-Year-Old Girls Cry

They had a semi hit single here toward the end of last year. Thought it was shite myself,Editors do the JD thing so much better.

i went to see them ( i posted here about it) back in july

it wasn't very good.. and lots of 15 year olds

They're not bad.Like a few of theirs,especially the "I'LL MUTHAF**KING TEAR YOU APART" song.But not an album I can listen to for lengths of time,voice is a bit monotone.

Other than "tear you apart", the rest of the album was unoriginal, subpar work.

I saw them open for Placebo, and I have to say they're better live. Nevertheless, the best assesment of SWR is here (scroll down a bit):
