Anyone else bothered with this yet?
Have to say, don't think I particularly laughed that much as such (Peep Show's Olivia Colman does have some quality salacious one-liners though) but it's a damned fine film nevertheless.
First hour was a bit slow but it certainly picks up after that. Some truly gruesome imagery along the way and 'omages to countless films, much in the way the same team did with Spaced.
Recommended, if only cos the film was so much darker than I'd hoped for.
i was gonna see it on weds, but went for lunch before hand and the lady got a bit trolleyed so was too wrecked to do anything so i had to take her home. so i'm gonna try again this weds on my day off

I really wanna see it, cos i saw a Sky documentary on it, which probably showed all the best bits.
Biggest concern is, however, that a lot of money has been thrown at it, compared to Shawn of the Dead, which normally has a blunting effect on creativity. How many music artists have gone shit with a shit load of cash?

On the viewing front,I'm on episode 4 of 'Prospects' Al.Took ages to arrive from ebay.
Saw it on Saturday night after watching Shaun of the dead on DVD the previous week.. I loved them both...

It's quite bleak in places. Couple of very gory scenes (unfortunately, I'm very squeamish) and an excellent nod towards the Whicker Man (the occult put the wind up me as well!)
Didn't realise it had a lot of money thrown at it? Certainly still had the Shawn of the Dead feel about it, though thought it was a much better grafted tale.
Reads like a who's who of British comedy though - Simon Pegg's initial boss is Martin Freeman, whose senior in turn is then Steve Coogan, who has to report to Bill Nighy.
Then he has Jim Broadbent as his guv'nor in the sticks!
Like the look of it, will wait for the DVD to come out. It takes something special to get me to the cinema these days

they confirmed that they are not now doing "la triviata" a planned film about a pub quiz team & spaced series 3 is definitely a dead duck.
film itslef looks great, just wish they would do some publicity for it

They appear to have a new vehicle due soon anyways. Hot Fuzz was preceded by a trailer from their stable called "Run Fatboy Run", which stars Dylan Moran and Simon Pegg, with Pegg seemingly training to be a boxer. (Film's obviously at very early stages in filming, cos it wasn't a trailer 'proper', if you know what I mean).
Oh, and I know where Pegg lives! It's round the corner from me anyways, but one of my younger cousins was his next-door neighbour!

That's the trouble with Frankie Vaughen DVD's JAK..Other DVD's always dissapoint when they are the benchmark!
Saw it on Saturday night; best laugh I've had in a while. Gonna get the DVD when it comes out.
Finally got round to seeingit, very funnny, i liked the shaun of the dead DVD in the bargin bin, that had me chuckling

I thought it was funny as fcuk! Like already has been said,a who's who of British films.Edward Woodward,Anne Reid,Bill Nighy,Broadbent,Freeman,Coogan,Billie Whitelaw.Oh and even Frank from SHAMELESS!
Fun counting the number of film references everything from Bad Boys,Speed,Wicker Man and The Omen. Starts off Pegg is a bit of a do-gooder,not much fun...till he meets Nick Frost. Film's got it all,laughs,shootouts............and it only does a Tarantino and resurrects the career of someone who's been out of the limelight for a while.Ladies and Germs,the second coming of TIMOTHY DALTON!
