Strange day. Here's what I bought...

Non-Adidas Trainers.

That's right, I bought a pair of Puma Pele trainers. Brown leather, sort of a cracked paitent effect. Nice. Only remembered that Pele can't get it up these days as I was leaving the shop. Nearly took them back but thought fuck it, no one will make the connection. This is the first pair of non-Adidas trainers I have bought since 1988.

Also bought a brown Fred Perry v-neck sweater in the same shop. You used to get your head kicked in at our school if you turned up without one of them on. I'm looking forward to wearing it to work and battering anyone who hasn't got one. And snogging teenage girls, of course.

I also bought another brown v-neck by Rocawear. Not sure why I did that: time will tell I suppose.

Then I went to another shop and bought two polo shirts: a Black Lacoste and a yellow Ralph Loren. Yellow. Oh, and a really nice cardigan.

Also bought a pair of work shoes from the Clarks shop in Northwich. They were a bargain.

I bought 5 pints of London Pride and a packet of pork scratchings...

My ex shelled out £80 for a JACKET for me for my BIRTHDAY soon.Just think if we'd have been a COUPLE! Would rather have had TEN beers......well i did tonight!

Last year, for various NO gigs/piss-ups etc, i was sporting brown Yves St Laurent trainers.

This year has to signal a comeback for mauve surely. Or do i stick to the brown, just to keep Mike happy?

Scary part is Mr. 'Oil that I had a yellow Lauren when I was 12. Loved it wore it thin 'til it earned its$. Sensible uniform there.

But I had to go shopping today to buy clothes for my new job, as an "executive assistant," which means I'll be doing a lot of filing and record keeping and working in an office. I had only one pair of dress slacks and 2 shirts. I basically spent about 4 hours looking for a pairs of black pants that fit because since I started my last job in October, I lost 15 pounds. And, I didn't even pick up a CD afterwards.

I love the fact that, for men of a certain age, trainers still hold vast symbolic importance.

Am thinking of starting a degree in "trainer studies".....

Although hardly a coppers nark,I do like to shop. Take yesterday for example.I shopped for 12 pints of Guiness,and assorted good day enhancements,to accompany the Boro V Man Yoo F.A. Cup Q.final,with some success..

I know a pair of contractors who left a boro badge and some graffiti"Boro Cup winners 2007" at the highest point of the new Wembley Stadium..So that was a relief to know our name is on the cup after the blip of now having to go to Old Trafford library,and win comfortably on penalties as per every round..I would shop Ronaldo for being a burglar if some one were to offer say,40 pounds sterling.

That's the general feeling Leggy D. Really tough place to go for the replay but everyone is quietly confident..Suppose the Man U lot will be just as confident back at the library,though much more quiet,natch.

I'm curtailing my spending on trabs for the moment. I've got 3 pairs I haven't worn yet, including 2 I haven't even coughed to buying yet.

Im sure Snoop means Converse's classic Chuck Taylor All Stars. Hank you can never have too many trainers-they only look good when their new. I've got about 100 pairs,been collecting them for years. Bought a pair of Puma G.Vilas last week,and hunted down a pair of Adidas Kegler the week before. I might throw a list up of all the ones i've got.

Watched a film last night called "The Business" Eighties sportswear all over the gaff..Watched an interview with director Nick Love on the special features, saying he got most of the clobber off ebay,very expensive..
