Just got mi council tax bill n its gone up 4.9%,this makes it £850+ per year for a band A terrace! robbin Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council bastards!

OK, so what's a council tax.
As a relatively new homeowner, I see a HUGE chunck of me money go to property tax (went up over 20% last year for me) and school tax, not that I have any kids or anything. Sometimes I wonder why I left my cozy apartment.

That would be our County property taxes, except we pay monthly for our garbage/recycling services.
How is the garbage collection over there? Are they anal on the recycling?

Its a fucking disgrace really. Dont get me wrong, but why is it if you live on a private estate (ie: not council) you pay more than those that do live in council rented property?
The ones that live there get more services they i do!

Seems like the normal trend, which ties into the other thread on the knocked up chick gettting more money. Seems if you are completely irresposible with your money (and other aspects of your life), you can have the government pay for alot of it.....

Erm, We've had the fortnightly collection in Barnsley now for 18 months!
I've also got four,four bins!
Reg grey one for household, blue one for paper and thin cardboard,brown one for glass and cans,green one for grass cuttings and gen garden waste.
As i only live in a poxy terrace there aint room for em.
Am all for recycling but 4 Fckin bins?

Its way worse in Japan. When I lived there you needed to buy specific bags (that cost an arm and a leg) for specific sorting of recyclables. There where ones for cans, glass, white paper, colored paper, cardboard, batteries, plastics, and many more I can't remember now. If you were found to put the wrong thing in the wrong bag it was a 5000 yen fine. Insane......but then they are hurting for space to throw stuff away.

My council tax went up by 4.5% to nearly £1500 per year!! Ive got grey, blue and green bins for recycling.
I blame the Socialist councils for this rip-off
FCUK em ...........i pay £22 per month at the moment and as i ain't had ANY rubbish of note in yeARS THAT IS ALL THEYare getting!RECYCLE was a good name for NEW ORDER's FINEST.Now i find i have to wash the fucking BAKED BASTARD BEAN cans>SHIT it is ENOUGH to drive a man to WORK with an O!

Yep, band A (house under 40k) til they re-assess it then they'l realise its more like 140k then i'll be payin £1,500 p.a!
