Anyone been to see this yet?

I went this afternoon, its pretty good, well over hyped but not bad. Not as much blood and guts as i'd hoped for either.

Nah, doesn't appeal to me. Want to see that Zodiac thats out next week though.

Thanks. I plan to se it tomorrow and I was curious as to what people thought.

I have not seen the movie yet; but the comic book was very good. With my parents out the next few weeks I might go see it with my dad.

It got a good review in the local paper (8 out of 10) from a guy that doesn't normally love action/sci-fi films. I've heard some comlpaints about the way it potrays the Persians, though. Oh well, can't please everyone.

Heard the action and cinematography was good, but that the storyline was weak. Also that the end was weak as well.

I'm suprised they were able to make that movie, with the usual complaints about "victims rights" and all. I heard that it is suppose to be "to-the-detail" correct.....even to the outfits that the cop wears on throughout the movie.

What isn't up for debate is the film's politics. The only times the Persian army doesn't look like a gay-pride parade in hell, it looks like a crowd of madly chanting Islamic militants. And if the Spartan king has to break the Spartan law to defend Spartan freedoms? Well, sometimes a king's gotta do what a king's gotta do. Because, as the queen of Sparta points out, freedom isn't free. And, yes, she uses exactly those words. George Bush is going to blow a load in his pants when he sees this movie.

IF Don Savage's review is accurate, I find it rather amusing. In actuality, the 300 Spartan warriors were all lovers. Each one had a partner within the group. Don't know if the Persians were actually into that stuff or not.

Oh yeah, and since this took place before Islam was created, the Persian army can't really be "Islamic militants"

Saw it yester day at the IMAX (a 100 foot digital screen) pretty good film, perfect for the IMAX!

Definitely want to see this.... but probably going to take some friends with me so I can deal with the violence! :)

I don't understand your question. I'm stating that the 300 Spartans were lovers. 150 intimate couples. I've seen it on numerous documentaries, well before this movie came out. Where's the confusion??
