Remains to this day (I think) the largest outbreak of violence within a British football ground since the mid-80s. I'd like to say I wasn't shitting myself, but I really was. Police totally lost control for about 20 minutes and the place was chaos. It was headline news on the BBC when I got home.

I remember seeing 'invites' dotted around some of the City Centre pubs in Brum in the vein "Join the party on the pitch". Didn't the Lou Macari move from Bloos to yourselves ignite it all? There were a few 'lads' I know on the pitch that day. Still they never get the result against their bigger neighbours

That didn't help, natch, but what 'started' it was Blues dickheads thinking they'd scored, then realizing they hadn't (by which time they were all on the fucking pitch, NATCH) and then throwing a great big girly strop in protest. Our dodgy equalizer hadn't helped matters neither.

And for Kershaw's benefit: the one time I was at Anfield we got spat on constantly in the queue to get in.When a fellow Stokie complained to the coppers about their inaction, the response was "just be thankful they're only spitting".

Twats.
