If you "got over it" 20 years ago why is it still the first thing that you (and most Eng-er-landers) feel the need to mention whenever his name comes up as though he cheated you out of lifting the trophy? It was the Quarter Final FFS!!

The trophy was as good as theirs as they'd have absolutely slaughtered Belgium in the semi-final and annihilated West Germany in the final, easy. After all, they finished 2nd to Morocco in the group stage and beat the might of Paraguay in round 2.

If you think about it England deserve to win every tournament they enter as they're always being cheated out of it!
When Stuart Pearce handled the ball, disguised as a diving header, off the line against Brazil he was being 'professional' when it's Maradona or any other foreigners come to think of it, they're cheats...

I've never said he cheated us out of lifting the trophy. He cheated us out of a goal, that's bad enough. I'm one of those rare breeds of football realists who knows that England will never win anything again while the players get ridiculous wages, the media get rich through character assassination and the public expect every game to be a virtual walkover. Until they concentrate on the fundamentals of playing the game, namely technique and teamwork, England will be perpetually shit. And when we're perpetually shit, being cheated out of competitions by illegal goals is painful. The saddest thing is that Primadonna didn't need to do that, he could run rings round that shower of shit naturally, like he did for the legit goal he scored, without having to cheat!

I think he is a pathetic figure. As far as the hand of God, I think most footballers, given the chance at an illigitimate goal in a World Cup match, would have done the same thing. Who's gonna say "please disallow that goal, sir, it was ill-gotten." ? Still, I have no sympathy for any of his current or past problems. They're all self-induced.
