The rediscovered thread has had me rooting through all my old vinyl over the weekend. Found hundreds of old 12" singles i must have had boxed up for about 10 years.

I've literally pulled out two massive stacks of records that im gonna have to stick on the MP3 player. Olds of old Hacienda, Quad, Basement and Shelleys tunes.

These will be on by tonight for the gym!

Denise Lopez - Dont You Wanna Be Mine? T.N.T - I Kill Love Andy On The Eve - Melodies Of Passion JJ Tribute - A.S.H.A Pierre Feroldi - Moving Now Together - Hardcore Uproar Dilemma - In Spirit Shawn Christopher - Another Sleeples Night Bassheads - Who Can Make Me Feel Good? Leftfield - Not Forgotten (Hard Hands Mix)

Oh, if you're under 30 you're probably wondering what im warbling on about!

Your list seems to be missing Strings of Life and Your Love.

Damn why did digi mention sys7, I might have to piss the whole street off with Plasticman AND Hillage doing AlphaWave live.

Yep FFRR put that one out as a limited edition release and the guy singing on Wasted is Andy Cairns from Therapy? I think it came out around 1994/95. Cheers!:thumb:

Nah, nearly right, the Therapy? song was on the "b-side" - Grant Fulton was the singer (he also sang on a version of "The Box"). :)

Personal faves after many nights at spent Raindance, Thunderdome, Lost, Knowledge, The Orbit(Leeds) are Aphex, U.R, Plaid, Black Dog, Chemicals, LFO, Leo Anibaldi, Mix-master Morris etc...

I recognize a handful of these titles but unfortunately, I wasn't exposed to too much of it as a teenager/young adult in the states. ('87 - '95). Would llike to hear more sometime, though...

Joey beltram energy flash anyone?

Was never really into owt commercial, happy hardcore bollocks,or piano techno.

I preferred full on hard techno,by the likes of westbam, sven vath to name but a few.

Saw Laurent garnier at the orbit (leeds) a few years back and he played his entire back catalogue ,class :thumb:

I can remember back in the days before raving and all that happy hardcore shit, when music was music. I went into a local record shop in town every week when i got paid just to buy chicago and detroit house tunes,oh how i wish i still had them records :\ohwell:

Andrew Sayer wrote: Trouble is (as when similar threads have appeared...) that people list songs that are NOT CLASSIC HOUSE Tunes - Quando Quango, etc...

Everyones take on a classic is different! There was at the start of the dance scene 20 years ago a massive north south divide. Northerners were more into the Italian house whilst down south had the garage scene.

Depends on where you lived, what DJ's you heard. Up north it was Sasha, Nipper, Vertigo, Dave Haslam, etc. The south had Terry Farley, Andrew Weatherall & Oakenfold, Tim Simion etc.

from 87-91 DJ's weren't worldwide stars like they are now, so what people heard was what their local jocks were playing.
