City of random shouting and violence. The epitome of which is probably the local football team, made up of racist thugs.

Go to any city at 2am and you’ll see drunk people stumbling about, shouting, perhaps engaging in mindless violence. Go to Leeds and you’ll see all this and more, 24 hours a day.

Add to this the crap transport infrastructure - trains are often late and cancelled because of the track in disrepair/half-finished station (which has been under re-development for aeons). Wait for hours at a bus stop and you might be lucky enough for a nearly empty bus to pull-up, let people off and refuse to let anyone else get on.

Yes, Leeds, “the London of the North” - if you’re going on the number of homeless people wandering its streets, perhaps.

Noooo, Leeds is good man! Loads of hot students and a wicked night out. Wouldn't wanna live there though, it just ain't Manchester!

One of my brothers lived there, up until last year, for abot 5 years. Had many, many brilliant nights out in Leeds. Spent a good few nuggets on the brilliant shopping facilities, also! Very fond memories.

The only trouble I ever encountered, was a drunken Arsenal chick running through the city centre, very drunk, banging on windows of bars and restaurants, singing 'Ian Wright, Wright, Wright!

I've not been back since!

Leeds is Ok,but most folk seem to walk round with a chip on their shoulder for some stupid reason.

Still can't beat a night on the piss there

Leeds is a great city I went to University there. Best years of my life, still a great night out in someways I prefer it to Manchester.

Cheers

I liked what Great Pop Things had to say about Leeds: "Due to strange juxtapositions of slagheaps, tower blocks and factory chimneys, Leeds gets only one hour of daylight at four in the morning when it's dark anyway and everyone is ill or asleep..." (from their Sisters Of Mercy cartoon). Mekons are from Leeds as well, that's about all I know of it, well that and the club kept selling off their best players for a long time.

I like Leeds. I found the people very friendly. Not extortionate prices. Still not as good as London though!
