I hope I'm not the only person here that thinks they're freckin' awesome.

I usually don't get into industrial music that much but, I have a friend of mine whose birthday was earlier this week. His favorite band is VNV Nation. And my friend got me all the way to St. Pete to see them in concert last night.

And they. Were. AWESOME!!

Eventually pictures will be up sometime during Easter week. I got a pic with the two guys in the band [Ronan and Markus], as well as the two guys who were touring with the band. One of the two guys [they helped as keyboardists while Markus rocked the drums and Ronan got the crowd going!], Andre, looks quite a bit like Stephen Morris... *giggle* I was beside myself.

Good God, last night was fookin' AWESOME!!! Woohaw!!!

They are playing in Charlotte on Monday and I'm trying to figure out if I want to be up late on Monday and go see them. I have one of their CD's and like what I have heard.

I just hate going to shows during the week. 5am comes awful early when you have to work the next day.

They are absofreckin'lutely AWESOME!!!

I definitely recommend that, if you do go, sleep plenty before the show. Sleep well, and be ready to rock your ass off.

 Trust me, I loved what I saw. Fun time!

:brow: Gee, nice way to describe music that could easily fit in as good as NO. Shame on thee, sir! :nono:

ETA [edited to add] I will admit though, everyone IS entitled to their own opinion.

Scanning pics that I think were the main highlights from the show, including the afterparty pics of me with the band...

My fave's the pic of myself and Andre. :love2: He's so cute.

VNV Nation is about as "industrial" as Depeche Mode. It's all dark synths and sequencer beats.

Nope. While they may be both dark synths and beats and stuff, Depeche Mode is new-wave/synth-pop. VNV Nation is industrial. And pretty freckin' different from the Mode, that's for sure.

You try comparing their music and their lyrics. Go ahead. I dare you.

ETA [edited to add] That and, the Mode hails from England. The Nation hails from Germany, home of industrial music... even though the two main guys that make up the Nation are from Ireland and England.

Hmmmmm.

Depeche Mode is definitely NOT New Wave. Wouldn't even call 'em synth-pop, more like industrial-influenced synth... er...

Hell, I'm at a loss for words; Diggy, how would you describe Depeche Mode?

Heh, made a collage of the pics of me and the guys from the band... :D

...and before you insult, remember that I busted my butt making this lovely collage.

Yeah, no pottery was involved. Only three pictures, MS Paint, and a hell of a lot of patience. Came out pretty well too.
