Today is the 4th day i have been feeling absolutely shite due to man flu. I spent most of thursday and friday in bed after my usual tactic of loads of drugs and some really really fucking hot curry failed on me in Steve McClaren esque proportions.

Any suggestions?

Liam hun, I hate to sound a bit brash and whatnot but, I say go see a doc. ASAP.

Otherwise, chicken noodle soup and plenty of vitamin C usually gets me up and on my feet. Oh, and plenty of fluids. Especially water and orange juice.

 If the second paragraph really doesn't help any, you really should see the doc.

Drink a bottle of scotch. That'll kill something.

No point in going to the GP....by the time you get an appointment you will be better, though you may have come down with something else by then. Also there's nowt the doc can do for flu or colds.

Best advice is to rest up, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration(colds make you sweat more as your body works to fight them off so you need more fluid than you usually do.) and take 1000mgs(? dose may be incorrect..at least 2 big vit c tablets each day, at different times and along with zinc is the best way) this can reduce the symptoms and duration of a cold by a third.

eucalyptus oil is great for making you be able to breathe better and a few drops in a bath is great for soothing muscle aches...

Hot honey and lemon drinks are comforting though pointless other than that, so have the sports lucozade type drinks instead as these have the sugars and salts you need if you have been off your food not drinking enough etc (also they are great for hangovers)

Aaaah. Bless you!!! Hope your feeling better soon sweetie. (Sympathy sometimes helps).

Other than that, make sure you drag yourself out of bed and go to work. Spread your germs to those you hate (I enjoy doing that) and save your sick days for a nice summer day when you can sit outside, chill and make the most of them!!

My advice is PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER AND QUIT MOANING!!! Bet you took time off work, lazing about watching daytime telly while the company pays all because you've got a sniffle. It's deadbeats like you that have seen this coutry go to the dogs. Where's the work ethic theses days? Where's the bulldog spirit of just rolling your sleeves up and getting on with it?

Fucking sick pay?!! That would be a great luxury. If I don't work I don't get paid. Simple. The way it should be. And guess how many days off I've had through illness in the last 13 years? That's right. FUCK ALL.

Get down the doctor's with all the other scroungers and get him to sign you off for another week if you're still feeling "poorly". Shitehawk!

Yes but watching Trisha and Jeremy Kyle can be a tonic!

My Grandfather's 'two hats' cure for anything.

1-Put your hat at the end of the bed. 2-Get in bed. 3-Drink rum until you can see two hats. 4-Go to sleep.

I don't get sick pay either and I'm rarely off sick, although I have been known to wake up, think 'fuck it' and go back to sleep. I can only think of once when I've not been in because I've been unwell and that was the time I broke two ribs and I couldn't move. I even considered going in for the afternoon that day.

I've dragged myself in to work in some horrible states though, no doubt spreading all sorts of germs in to pass around.

All very worthy and far too sensible and practical for Liam!

We should all drink more water

I, on the other hand, should probably drink more booze.

It's been seven days since I touched a drop of alcohol (apart from a social nip of malt with my Dad last night).

Those of you that saw me seven days ago might understand why. I still don't feel right; thinking about going for another week.
