With just one of the band who wrote the songs actually playing them this time around!

Is George Best still dead?

But he's got the ego...

I asked David about his decision to revert to TWP. He justified it by saying that he has always been the most important member of it, so TWP is essentially him. He has got a point with that; only if he is so important he should be able to use his name alone - Morrissey doesn't hide behind 'The Smiths'. In my opinion, by using TWP again, David acknowledges that anything that was done under that banner was better than anything since. Pete Solowka

Exactly. Which is absolutely shocking.

I was a massive fan of TWP. First ever gig I went to was to see them at the Barrowland (supported by the Inspiral Carpets) on bonfire night 1988 as a fresh faced 14 year old. I think what Gedge has done by basically re-branding his dodgy Cinerama project as The Wedding Present is a disgrace to everyone else who contributed to the band during their heyday.

If you read the interviews with ex-band members in the link below not one of them has anything nice to say about him and he comes accross as an egotistical, money-grabbing wanker. In the interview below Shaun Charman basically infers that he was sacked because Gedge wanted to shag his girlfriend!!!

There's no way I'll be lining the twat's pockets by going to any of these shows.

Pretty much describes how I feel about it all. I saw them tons of times, got to know Grapper and Keith quite well, but Gedge was always aloof. No time for him, wouldn't go and see them now if they played the boozer at the end of my road.
