Prolly Blue Monday.
Honestly. Always bought albums, never singles.
Er, no, that's wrong, actually. I bought some Yardbirds 45 singles prior to that, Heartfull of Soul, The Nazz Are Blue, Happenings Ten Years Time Ago, Little Games.
But Blue Monday was my first 12" single.

Was just about to write "Going Underground" - The Jam (didn't have to buy singles before then, just nicked them off my "big brother").
But this reminded me that it was really "Ally's Tartan Army" (Scotlands 1978 World Cup song)![]()
