Seems like there's a ton of negativity on the boards lately (and for once, I'm not the source of it). So let me try and introduce some lightness and hope to these forelorn times with a list of bands or artists that give hope to the idea that good music still exists, and is out there if you're just willing to look for it:

Belle and Sebastian Death Cab for Cutie / Postal Service Arcade Fire Modest Mouse (I really want to get their new album) Wilco Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Kaiser Chiefs

Now you make list, yes? :D

Errmmm... not many currently. There's a few around that Give me Hope the death penalty will be re-introduced, but here goes:

Union of Knives Ladytron µ-Ziq Go Team! Banco de Gaia Martin Grech

And I still live in hope the new Radiohead album will be good if it ever gets released. As does my persistent belief and hope that Kraftwerk will produce another good album in the new millennium.

Arcade Fire (at their best moments) Pearl Jam Black Keys Doves (their last two records have been great) Derek Trucks and his band Robert Randolph and The Family Band (their cds are fine-see them live!!) Neil Finn/Crowded House (they have a new cd scheduled to drop in June) Rufus Wainwright

That is what I loved about working at a record store. The ability to be in the know and find the deep stuff that would never get a huge amount of attention

I find that blasting some New Order is good for the soul.

Maybe with Porl back, the Cure's new album will give me some hope (that is, if they use a different producer this time who isn't so clueless). I wish I had hope about the the album for Smashing Pumpkins, but I think this is all a hoax.

Then again Burt, it starts to be very embarrassing to agree with you, such a genetically anti-French Englishman...
