Last week, I was told by somebody who posts on this website "I dont like The Whip, I Like Electronic Music"

With The Whip being the best electro band out there, in my book anyway, does anyone else have any suggestions for this person, who shall remain nameless for Electro bands to listen to.

Obviously, they cant have any synths, or programming or anything like that, because thats what The Whip do, and he doesnt like that.

Cheers! :thumb:

Liam - if he's one of your gay friends from that photo (on other thread) then maybe you could suggest Erasure- who appear to be back:thumbdown:

Liam once asked me what the cheapest way to get from Manchester to Aberdeen was.

Walk, Liam...

North American Scum is excellent, does that qualify?

No because it has synths in it.

Are we just talking about semantics here, Liam?

You seem to have used 'Electro' where 'Electronic' would've been a more suitable word? Electro is an art-form of its own making, and certainly doesn't encompass many bands of the modern era. And, actually, even the use of the word 'Electronic' is rather redundant. I don't really think of New Order as an 'Electronic' band, per se, despite the fact they use synths and programming. Leave the pigeon-holing to our cousins across the pond!

I presume this entire thread is just a dig at APK as well, from reading between the lines?

partly. Sort of a retaliation for being called a Cunt to my face by someone who doesnt know me without any prompting at all.

I use the term electro because Electronic Music could be classed as most music these days- although it seldom is- Personally, I would class the majority of New Orders output as "Electronic/Electro" although stuff like Ceremony I obviously wouldnt.

Why waste time getting to know you, when he can call you a cunt immediately?!

Again, I think we're talking semantics. Electro is a genre in its own right. A mutation of techno which fused with way too much hip-hop (for my liking) as it progressed. I can't think of many New Order tracks which could be classed as 'electro'. Confusion was their one and only genuine stab at the genre.

I also called myself a c*** too, it was the ale talking and I was being jocular about what is generally said on here. I'm not the type of person to disrespect people for no reason so if I offended you I'm sorry and I apologise - sometimes we can all be w***kers!:banghead: BTW I'm no no it all about music as if I was I'd be making, writing or involved in some way in the industry. As for gigs there are loads I'd love to go to but things like rent, council tax and bills get in the way. I see what I can when I'm able to so fair play to you for being so comitted. Let's just forget about Brixton and move on as with what's been happening/NOOL lately I'm not bothered being in the middle of more strife IMO! Cheers!:thumb:
