I know it's damn well past my bedtime, but I don't have to work tomorrow, so at the moment sleep means fuck-all to me.

You know my new weapon of mass calculation I'm so chuffed with?

Woke up sunday morning, started it to continue an excellent game of Supreme Commander.....it got to the bootloader and shut down. Tried restarting it, it shut down before it finished spinning the drives up.....continuously. So, I fingured I'd been fannying around with the overclocking too much the night before, and while it was happy to do it warm, it couldnae hack it from a cold start.

I went round the back to kill the mains power to it, to reset it....and as I looked in the side window I saw.....the fucking CPU fan, couped over against the window. OPened it, the fan landed in my hand. then I realised the clip had snapped off the mother board.

So no windows machine since Sunday, welllll I could reboot either the laptop or linux desktop into their respective windows installs, but I don't want to ruin my uptime stats. Neither is exactly a gaming box either.

I've tried to buy a spare backplate....no go. Overclockers.co.uk are perfectly happy to take the board on return, but warned it could take a month! Soooooo, I have ended up having to buy a new fan, a huge heavy fucker, capable of trashing any and all motherboard clips.....so it comes with it's own.

Once that arrives I then have to strip the LOT, and rebuild it.

that'll be the 3rd time I've built the bastard.

twas only the page that went doolally and lost all the stuff in my basket.... IE is prob crap but I think trying to get my brain round something new might possible make my head explode I freak out when it does updates....

This one is even beyond the limits of the sonic screwdriver.

New fan, which will hopefully fix it, is hopefully on the way.

bit much really. Not something I would buy normally, but had to get something "flash" that comes with a new mounting to replace my broken one.

Not sleeping is a lot easier with games, particularly MS Train Sim, which can lull you off to sleep nicely.

Opera. Minx. Consider having a look.

IE-7 is nice w/ their Tabbing and set- up and such. Sleek but got soO0o tired of t 'updates. Think of all the Disc space. Wasn't sold on Opera until this latest version. Clean simple. Fast.
