BTTF at Universal has indeed closed (last august), the building is still there next to the Men In Black ride. Cant see it being reworked for The Simpsons though because they've got a new ride already which is practically the BTTF ride except it goes through other places, it even chases another car as like the Back to the Future ride.
Also read that some 7-11's will be converted to a Kwik-E-Mart for the premiere, as well as several Springfields across the US vying for the place of the world premiere (the one in Oregon has no nuclear plant, but it certainly does have its share of, uh, "characters").
Will probably go see this in the theaters, but it's about six years too late in the overall scheme of the show.
The only purpose of this movie is so Family Guy can copy the idea and have their own movie in 5 years, but instead of it being actually funny, it'll be laden w/ a million giggities and rehashed shit from the internet

Well, for a long time it was shown on a satilite tv which i don't have.I think the BBC now show it at about 6pm,but that clashes with the evening news.
