Boss of the environment agency was on radio this morning telling people to call floodline.
What a silly cunt, typical govt spastic.
Tell the people afflicted by flash rainstorms to phone floodline. MEANSHILE train all floodline agents that "we ONLY deal with environmental flooding from rivers esturies and the sea, anyone phoning about rains or drains, DO NOT get into a debate, just send them off to their local authority who's responsibility it is".
Floodline is a waste of time anyway, all they (sometimes WE) can do is tell you how fucked you are, how long your gonna be fucked, and if anyone else is fucked too. no help at all can be offered, save your effort. Of all the government "help"lines feeding into our building this is the MOST obvious PR exercise with no real point.

My investment house is perilously close to a rather large amount of water that is getting nearer. Nailbiting times at the moment.

The yellow RAF helicopter that was rescuing workers on Monday night was right outside our office. I left at 3.45pm and was the last one to get out of the affected areas ok. Although our flat was inaccessible till yesterday. Now there is mud, debris and wet cars everywhere
If it keeps raining here, we may face that situation as well.
Strange thing is that we are still in draught.
Jesus! I know Rotherham quite well (my best friend lives there...luckily up a hill!!) and I never thought that the rive next to Tesco would flood.
I'm meant to be going down to Rotherham on Friday, hopefully it will be ok by then!

With it being such a widespread problem the insurance companies will be getting hit for some seriously untruthful claims.
Its tempting though isn't it? I mean, they NEVER come out and check. On top of which your policy still increases every year.

we do a housing assoc in Sheff with properties everywhere.
the government needs to to more in terms of flood preventions otherwise, with global warming and all that, Insurers will end up withdrawing Flood cover. it will happen sooner rather than later.
luckily King John lives on a big hill in Everton. he's safe.

Lady 
was stuck at work in atlas (nr meadowhall)and managed to get back at 12 midnight via an alternative route of about 40 miles.
Her cousin was stuck in Meadowhall centre and got evacuated to sheff arena where she spent the night !
The river Dearne at Darton (my village) burst its banks yet AGAIN, Twice within a fortnight,60-100 homes and shops ruined again!
A feel sorry for all the folks that were flooded,the chazza (charity) shop in our village was hit again and they've just had a new extension built.

Reminds me of the time same thing happened in Carlisle, there ground was underwater,had to go to Gretna to play games for a few months. Lucky for Weds the season ended, it could've seriously affected their league form

hope you guys make it through that crud over there. its been raining too much where i am but not too flooded, except to the south...and a drought in the west and southeastern of the states...esp in tahoe where its on fire...
well out of it where i live luckily. Thank god i bought a house at the top of a massive hill.

Very busy at my work too. I worked til 7.30 today to help things out. Overtime on offer Saturday and Sunday. The joys of working in household insurance claims
