Depeche Mode front man DAVE GAHAN will release his second solo album - HOURGLASS - in late October (exact date to be announced). The Mute release is the follow-up to his 2003 solo album Paper Monsters, which marked his debut as a full-fledged songwriter. The disc earned critical acclaim worldwide (with Q magazine citing it as one of the Top 50 Albums of the Year) and spawned sold-out solo tours of the U.S. and Europe (as captured on the 2004 live DVD release Live Monsters).

Actually, he even wrote his first DM songs on Playing The Angel.. that's a first in Depeche Mode history.
Best one being Suffer Well.
RECOIL is about to release a new album as well, they "added me" as a friend on MySpace last week 
I truly miss the DM of 1993 and before. Without Alan Wilder, instrumentations as too thin, they really miss him.

SW is one of my fave DM songs, Nico. Dave Gahan did well with this one.

I liked "Dirty Sticky Floors" from his first album, mainly the Junkie XL remix.
DM's "Precious" is a great track-- sad and wonderful.
Thanks for the news. I hope this one will be better, because I have his first solo album, and I thought it was a bit mediocre....there were some good songs, but in the end 'Playing the Angel' was a better album than Gahan's first solo album.

there is no need to compare those 2 LPs. Of course I will probably listen to new Gahan lp, but I am sceptic so far.
