can't wait to see the endless stream of ambulances heading towards Everton Rd tonight, once they've returned from Southport.

My youngest sister's birthday too. A sick, sick joke.

Not as sick as checking into the Venetian in Las Vegas, which has over 3000 rooms, and being handed a keycard for room number.....1690. :nonono:

the last time i attended the Orange Lodge (the provvy as we call it) club near me, i refused to stand up when the national anthem came on. this tiny little old lady with a horrible mouth on her wanted to batter me, so I left.

only wanted a pint, and a few songs on the jukey.

another time is was in there on the 12th, all hell broke loose. they were fighting each other. the bar shuuters came down, the Ambo's turned up. So, i left then too.

interesting night tonight. and I'm out tonight in that direction.

They're scumbags. Full stop. The only folk further down the ladder are the arseholes who tag along at the side of the walk in their trackies, tanning bottles of Buckfast. My copper mate always volounteers to do overtime back in uniform for the big one (last Sat). He nicks the cunts just for looking at him the wrong way.

Cheers, saves me the bother of replying ;)

Yes indeed, by about 1230am the sound of loyalist solidarity could be heard all round bangor.....ie ambulances picking up the stab victims, and the dulcet tones of Ladies "Sharn and Karn" yelling "Leave it dougie he's not worth it".

Good news is, the place was fucking dead this morning, more and more folks are seeing the 12th for what it is (a KKK fun day)

In the interest of impartiality I would like to point out that on the very rare ocassion that you do get a Hibernian Walk round our way the participants are also scumbags. They are, however, our scumbags....

Unlike ye olde uberhun, the Hibs, while followed by creatures who, save for orange being replace by green, are identical to said blue noses, tend to stick to places they are welcome. Consequently one doesn't get a lot of them in Bangor, which is not noted for it's large nationalist community.

Who said there was?? My Oh Christ was at the title of the thread...

I'm pissy that my desk calendar actually commemorates (or is it commiserates) the occasion.

I just think anyone who tries to perpetuate the ridiculous bigotry on either side needs a fucking good slap.

And for the record, I'm English, of Irish Catholic ancestors and I can't be doing with any of the bigotry, whether it's to do with race, politics, religion, nationality or whatever. Wish the world as a whole would just grow up.

Shame really, I like bonfires.

PS: A Yank on a forum took one look at my name and locale once and yelled "get the fuck out of Ireland, you Brit bastard". My reply...... "My family has been In Ireland since the 1500's, how long has yours been in the USA"

His response.....yup...silence.

Pleased and proud to say I made it through the entire 11th and 12th without seeing a single Orange rag, or hearing a note of "flute band" music. And that was even though I went right through chavtown on the way home from work.

I'm too scared to

I somehow look like I don'y belong and always attract spide attention.

Didn'y hear so much as a note the whole 12th and 13th.

I always preferred the bonies to the bands, but the older I got, the more Cafflick mates I made, the more the nastiness behind it all sickened me.

Still, always time for Lambegs, ever since I found out that that disgraceful racket is a scored tune that they read from sheet music!!!!!! The fact they are a decidedly OIRISH instrument just adds amusement. Also have a fondness for the occassional hired in proper marching band, who don't just play fuck the pope tunes all day.

Truly I just avoid it all now, maybe one day down the line when everyone here grows up it'll be an enjoyable historical festival and not a KKK march. Time was when the orangemen could walk up The Falls and be welcome, because they didn't make themselves otherwise.

There is some Lambeg band near me. They walked passed my house into the town on the 12th morning at fecking 8am, cunts. Surprisingly it wasn't that much of a spide fest in Ballymena. We watched the parade from a side door of a pub rather than having a blue carrier bag round a street corner, classy.

Walked round to Leanne's place with her after work on the 12th morning, she lives in Kilcooley, known locally as the K-Ranch and nationally as a den of extreme spidery. There were about 500 carry out bags half melted round the fence between the bonie and the carriageway, a very amusing sight, though just not in the same league of funny as the obligatory single twat in band uniform. This particular example was sat rocking back and forth drunkenly, on a school chair in the middle of the pavement. Bangor is a ghost town on the 11th night, all the loons are out in the estates from 5pm and everyone else just lays really low.

Yeah I've spent plenty of 12th's on the sunny side of the border too, Aunt's farm in Kilkenny a few times, and a week's hammered camping in Fulcaragh in Donegal (a sand spit that borders an amazing lagoon of several sq miles, which fills and drains through a channel no wider than a b road.)

Donegal actually is an alien planet.

Because it has two shops and ten pubs.

Oh and a beach for the kiddies. Did you know they sell the Andersontown News in Donegal?

The only paper who's announcements section includes births marriages deaths and kneecappings.

I was thinking more about the fact that one moment you're in lush green ancient forrst, and you turn a corner and you're on the surface of Ganymede.

Don't tell my friend Jenny Steve - she'd have yer nuts off for that. She's from Planet Donegal...

Bought her car from her a few years back and when I needed to re tax it (NI plates, not Eire) I was told I'd have to pay £500 to re-register it with 'British' plates. Oh, did I go off on one then... Civil Service say NI is 'British' when it suits them, then if they can make more money, they claim it's not...

The whole things a farce!

Fcukit. Beers anyway

Not in the least bit suprising. The government hate us and can't wait to be shot of NI (no pun intended)
