does anyone live close to a Sunoco station? They are giving away the stickers that match the ones on the NASCAR vehicles...and I want one...but there isn't one anywhere around me or any of my relatives...

Anybody willing to get one and then send it to me???

I would love you for almost ever....

This Spascar thing seems to inspire much passion.

Can't understand it myself. Apart from Infineon (Sear's point) and Watkins Glen, the only turn left all year and have no brakes.

Reckon it would be a fun thing to actually DO though.

Sadly my mother and father are only related by marriage so I doubt I'd be permitted to join in

Instructions for Becoming a Successful NASCAR Driver:

1.) Drive real fast

2.) Make a left at the curve

3.) See steps 1 and 2

We have Sunocos here but I haven't actually gone inside a station in years to pay for gas, just pay at the pump.

They aren't that fast either...have the regs been changed to slow them down? Surely they used to run at a speed near to that of the Champ Cars?

Juan Pablo Montoya on winning the Indy500 at the first attempted...

"nnnnya[1] they should just velcro down the gas pedal and leave us to turn left all afternoon"

[1] The noise the preceeds all of JPM's sentences.

I can't explain it either...From just looking at it, it DOES look like it would be the most boring thing in the world to watch...funny thing is, I don't like watching Indy Cars or F1...go figure....

Jeff, almost all of Philly is a ghetto, with the exception of the downtown area, the far northwest, and the "Great" Northeast.

It's the only form of motorsport that it is acceptable to watch purely for the pile ups, and fuck me those boys are experts at it.

Having played Nazzer sims, two of which where built on the GP Legends game engine, so I know their physics model is excellent, I would say that there's no wonder they pile up with such ease. I would, if asked to describe the vehicle I had just driven, with no foreknowledge that it was a nascar, say the following.

Some kind of spaceframe, fitted with two pram wheels which only appear to turn left at the front, two shopping trolley wheels made from polished teflon at the back. The machine appears to be propelled by rocket thrust applied somewhere around the rear. Braking is improved several hundred precent by putting one's arm out the window with one's palm facing the direction of travel.

Gotta love the wee flap that flips up to spin them the right way round, only ever seen it on those cars, and it's a genuine bit of genius.

Jefari......Was I tripping or did I see an ad banner appear over a particularly excellent rolling wreck, with a voice over saying "It's the Busch series big one, brought to you by......"??????????

The F1 equivalent would doubtless be.....

"Toyota, sponsors of Ralf Schumacher's latest demonstration that talent is not genetic" :evil4:

I personally LOVE the Indy 500. By mere acciedent, I watch it every year. I never remember the season for the Indy, but somehow I always turn on the TV (which I rarely ever do) and it will be right there...have watched it about 12 years in a row this way...guess its my destiny to watch it????

And I bet £40 that you don't see any other IRL race all year, or either of the other two races at Indy (Brickyard400 and USGP). Was really gobsmacked to find they only run those three events, and that not so long ago it was ONLY the 500!
