Fucking crap. Coming around today to put a landline in between 1 and 6 (and what the fucks all that about? I dont go to the fucking doctor and ask for an appointment between 1 and 6). Need to give them a different number to contact me on, cant get through to the right department after Five attempts, then they cut me off.

I ring back up, say i want to complain, and they, after ten minutes cut me off again.

Bunch of fucking cunts.

You dont expect good service from any of these types of companies anymore, but at least most will answer your call promptly when you've chosen the 'I want to buy something' option on the auto-attendant. Fuckin' BT dont, I tried for about 3 hours on 3 consecutive days to just get a line install booked, but in the end I gave up and went to Virgin media.

Having said that, the 1 - 6 thing I can understand, and some in the service industry wont even be that specific. Trouble is, there are so many variables that their guys could encounter, that it just isnt feasible to narrow the appointment window anymore, if they said '1' and got there at 3, you would be even more pissed off and they would likely have to take an angry call from you, using even more resources.

Sad to say, but no matter which company you choose for whatever service you want you'd rarely ever be happy with them in this day and age. The only time they're ever interested is when you dont pay the bill...

I looked at BT, talked to a few people - the concensus was that:

Their products are crap Their pricing is crap Their 'customer service' was laughable They are as on-time as an early Peter Saville Poster design

I went with Virgin Media.

For installation, the Customer service woman (after 3 rings) said they'd install the next day as close to 1pm as possible.

13:05 - engineer turns up 13:45 - all cabling finished, modem installed and tested, full broadband access. 13:48 - Had a cup of tea with engineer, who happened to be a New Order fan.

The only time it had a fault, very similar happened. They arrived about 20 mins after their estimated time, fixed within 5 mins (a problem with street cabling after a flood).

Been 100% fine in the last year.

Not guaranteeing everyone would have the same experience, but I'm very happy with them
